Guarantee

We take great care in creating our boards to the highest of craftmanship standards and we ensure boards leave our shop in mint condition. We also highly value your trust and support of our business. If your board has a design or craftsmanship flaw, we ask that you contact us so we can earn your satisfaction. A craftmanship flaw includes cracks or any defect that would render the board unusable. Natural variations or color of wood is not a defect.


Wood Sourcing & Board Materials

As part of our efforts to support and promote responsible global forestry practices, all our wood is sourced from suppliers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) .

We use FDA certified food grade glue in the construction of our boards and we are transitioning to completely organic food-safe tung and orange oils to seal the boards. While food grade mineral oil is the most common sealant used to condition wood products, mineral oil is not 100% organic. Tung oil is a durable finish that hardens when it cures and penetrates the wood fibers of the boards for superior protection. As we are transitioning, we still have some inventory sealed with mineral oil. If you wish to ensure your board is sealed with tung oil, please email us at info@stskraftworks.com.


Face Grain, Edge Grain & End Grain

Face grain and edge grain are often used interchangeably. The difference between face and edge is dependent on the orientation of the view. Face grain is typically considered to be the widest face of a milled board of wood. End grain boards are created by cutting the ends of milled boards into blocks and then gluing the blocks back together so that the end grain becomes the cutting board surface. With end grain boards, cutting and chopping happens in between wood fibers so knife marks tend to be less prominent with less wear and tear on knife blades.


Processing & Production Time

Order processing typically takes 1-2 business days. Because most of our boards are made as they are ordered, and we are a small, family-owned business, production time can be between 10-15 business days prior to shipping. Our goal is to produce each board within 10 business days of order placement.


Shipping

We currently offer free standard ground shipping to the contiguous U.S. We do not currently offer free shipping to HI and AK. Shipping options for HI and AK, in addition to expedited options for the contiguous U.S., are offered at checkout as described below.

Due to the dimensions and weight of our boards, we ship via carrier calculated options that factor shipping dimensions, weight and distance into rates. Once you input your shipping address during the ordering process, your shipping rate options will automatically calculate.

If your shipment arrives with visible damage incurred during shipping, we recommend you refuse delivery which requires the carrier to return the package to us. If you discover shipping damage upon opening your package, please immediately document the damage by writing a description and taking photos to send to us. We will submit a claim to the carrier and once the claim is accepted, we will ship you a replacement board.


Exchanges, Returns & Refunds

We want you to love your board. If you don’t, you can exchange or return within 30 days of purchase with your original purchase receipt. Returns must be in new, unused condition and must be returned in original packaging. Because our boards are made as ordered, a 20% restocking and reconditioning fee may apply. Additionally, you will be responsible for return shipping fees as well as shipping fees for a new board if you choose to exchange. Refunds will be made to the original method of payment minus applicable restocking fee and shipping charges. Any personalized or custom orders are not eligible for return. If a return is due to a craftsmanship flaw, we are responsible for return shipping as well as any replacement shipping costs. Please contact us so we can respond to your specific need.


Payment Forms Accepted

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards and Apple Pay for purchases in the U.S.


International Sales

At this time, we are only selling within the U.S. We want to get really good at doing that!


Retail Locations

We are primarily an ecommerce business based out of the Greater Los Angeles area. We do not have retail locations at this time but we may participate in regional craft and food events throughout the year.
